2012 team preparations well underway
Congratulations to the 2012 team! Well underway in their preparations for their medical mission to Ghana next summer, this dynamic group truly seeks "to preserve and restore health, to seek the cause and cure of diseases, and to educate those who would save humanity," just as the inscription reads behind them in the historic Hunton Hall at the VCU School of Medicine. They will accomplish these objectives and will themselves be greatly inspired and affected during their service in Ghana next summer. We wish them the best and lend them our full support!

Week 3 Update - back home
With the REACH 4 Ghana team back in the United States, we are excited to share about our action-packed final week in Ghana. As we do so, we are filled with fond memories of our time there and gratitude for the comforts of life in America.
Thank you for your support – you have made this mission possible. Our experience in Ghana and the services we were able to provide have changed our lives and the lives of many others.

Week 1 Update
Hello from Ghana! The team arrived on Sunday, June 19 and we spent our first night in Tema, near Accra. We traveled to Ho the next morning for an orientation and welcome ceremony hosted by Life for the Living Medical Center. We felt honored to have drumming, singing, and dancing from three local cultural performance groups to say, "Woezo lo," meaning "You are very welcome!"

Just over a month left
We're entering our final preparations phase as we only have about one month left until we head to Ghana! What's our schedule once we're in the country? Basically, we'll spend two days in each of the villages that we're going to - the first day will be the medical clinic and the second day will be an eye clinic and health education. We're going to five villages throughout the Volta Region. Of course, we won't be able to visit Ghana without going to some of the beautiful sites in the area - Wli Falls, Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary, and Kakum National Park, to name a few. To the right is a picture of Wli Falls -->

Thanks for coming
Thanks to all who came out for the Trivia Night! From the team who essentially got every question right to the five or so teams who ended up with zero points after betting it all on the last question - all had a great time. Just to test yourself: Which country boasts of the largest man-made lake by surface area?

Congratulations to our bracket winners!
March Madness is over, and most of our brackets looked like Swiss cheese after VCU swept through and upset everyone. Thanks once again to everyone who participated, and congratulations to our winners!

VCU in the Final Four - GO RAMS!
March Madness is well underway and who would have expected VCU to be in the Final Four? My brackets certainly did not have them going this far. To all who participated in the REACH 4 Ghana bracket contest - thank you! We deeply appreciate your support. We'll know the winner of the tournament next Monday (VCU, of course, it's just a matter of time . . .) and we'll notify the bracket contest winners of their prizes next week as well.
